ok I have a vent. As most of you know my youngest has heart disease and I am dealing with heart issues of my own. We have often thought that it would be cool to attend the local heart ball by the American Heart Association, but never could. Out of curiosity I looked at tickets, they are $300 a person!!!! So then I said maybe we could do a heart walk, but that is in the beginning of April in western ny where it is COLD and often rainy or even snowy. How is it that people (common people) can help with fundraising (we all know we are more likely to donate when it is fun) when they do it this way? and another pet peeve is the lack of awareness for CHD, I mean more children face CHD than all childhood cancers combines, yet I bet known of you have ever seen anything for awareness of CHD. GGGGRRR!!
So sorry to vent, but it makes me mad.

Hi!
Day 1 after...He's doing great. Said way better than yesterday evening, as far as swelling goes and color. Re check this morning went great and now he's bored crazy.I'm really surprised that he said there was no pain, just discomfort. I was shocked to hear that! He's going to take a drive into Austin and maybe visit more with Grandmother. Glad he sound's so matter of fact. Makes me feel better that I'm here he's there!
Tiff- Fried pickles are a norm around here. Well, really anything fried is to be honest! My kids go nutz for fried pickle sandwiches! Weird I know.
Really, glad to get him back home tonight. He works shift work, so I'm used to him being gone some nights, but this was a different kind of "gone"!
Think I got my Mom on the line to watch the kids next week for our date night. True Grit it is along with dinner. Looking forward to it. It's been months!
Thetimeisright was scheduled right after my DH with Dr. H, he said he didn't run into anyone otherwise he was going to tell her hello. Isn't that crazy to think that because of this group we knew of each other?!?
I must admit, I've never done chat boards before, but am so glad I found this one! From the Dr. we chose to what to expect, every step of the way it's been like our instruction manual. I feel like this was just another piece of the puzzle waiting to be connected. Thank you for all the stories told and the experiences shared.
DH called and said he's going to pack his stuff, saddle up his "eggplant" hanging in between his legs and check out. LOL What a perfect analogy! :->

Jennifer I was so frustrated that I decided since 2/14 is national congenital heart awareness day I would contact a bunch of news agencies to see if they would do a CHD story that day. Well within 15 minutes I got a email back from one who wants to interview us on tv!! I am freaking out now, my hair looks like a lion mane that has gone through the savanna a few times without frizz control or conditioner!

Kirsten, that is GREAT!!!! LOL about your hair, I would be freaking too if I went on TV! Leslie, I know! but I try to not get my hopes up! I have seen a couple ladies get pregnant at 7 months so far this month so that is hopeful! Oh and DH still hasn't made his SA appt, I think he's stalling I understand though because we are both scared to hear zero again. Well girls I gotta get offline for a bit. Today is my oldest sons 12th Birthday and I have to get his cake made before he gets home from school, talk to everyone a bit later

Tiff...I am really picky. Wish I could eat vegies. Since I have gotten older, I have tried more, just can't get into it...really wish I could. My dh keeps telling me when I get pg I will need to grow up and eat them Jen...So hard not to keep hopes up...even with our crappy SA, I still keep thinking maybe. Kirsten...GK with that interview! How exciting. Sorry the tickets are so much...it is hard when they charge that kind of price. How is the average person who, wants to support, it pay that much???

Jenn, I have my hopes up for you too! Please check in as soon as you pee! HAHA!
Kirsten, that is so frustrating! I would feel the same way!
Not much going on here. It's finally pretty outside today so we will be spending a lot of time outside this afternoon! Yay! I am so tired of the cold weather.

Well I am going to get involved in the local little mended hearts, a support for CHD families and going to try to get some fun things going as well for fundraisers. One thing I think is everyone loves to dress up, so want to figure out how to incorporate that into a fundraiser that won't step on others toes.

Nancy - Yes, you have to be a good veggie eating role model to your kiddo:-) Better start taste testing.
Kirsten - $300 - wow! Parents of these children should be able to attend for FREE.
Jenn - Happy 12th Bday to your son. PEE already! hee hee
Ashley - YUM, I can't wait!
Mandy - it's nice here to - I love Winter in AZ.
Sporty - ahhhh yes, the eggplant balls. Good times. My DH's stitches all feel out 1 week to the day. Like clockwork. It will go thru a series of colors. Make sure he isn't doing TOO much - no lifting, pulling, pushing or squeezing. You will LOVE True Grit! We are going to see something new this weekend. We love movies!

so AF is playing games, had a LITTLE spotting this am, so figured with that and the temp drop she was here, but NADA all day, guess CD1 will have to hold off till tomorrow or the next day... but if AF shows later tonight is today CD1 or tomorrow? I mean the day is gone, it is 6:30 now

Hmm, Kirsten, that's a good question. I've never had AF start in the middle of the day before, she's always here when I wake up. I would assume that if she does show in full force today, even if it's later in the day, that it would still be CD1 today.

But I usually don't get a full force, mine tends to be more spotting. But it has not even gotten to heavy spotting yet, it was just once this am, so gonna call it no AF so far
