I'm the same way, when the thermostat reaches below 70 in the house I am freezing! And I really dislike being cold when i wake up in the middle of the night and dislike it even more waking up cold in the morning when i get out of the bed lol.... BUT I do still think we can lower the stat a bit and hopefully help.... we currently do 72/74 in the winter, I like to be warm lol...

I keep our thermostat at 62 at night and 67 during the day. There are times that I just feel cold, so I temporarily up it to 70 for like an hour. And yes, for groceries, we buy in one day our food for 2 weeks. Obviously we still have to make trips to the store for produce, because we go through more in 2 weeks than our fridge can hold and also because most produce just doesn't stay good for that long. I would say about 1/3 of the groceries we buy, we actually buy once a month. (we order from a company that only ships once a month to our area {azurestandard.com})

We live in Florida and keep our air on 78 and heat on 68. Of course, the heat isnt much of a problem here and we have a fire place that we used during our "winter". Right now we havent even used the heat (or air) this month. We only turn it on when necessary.
We manu plan for a week at a time also!! Saves us a bunch of money by not making 5 trips during the week to the grocery store for 20-40 each time. We also shop at Target rather than our local grocery stores. We have found this saves us at least 50-60/month!!
We have cut out cable...I dont really miss it..we did pick up Netflix recently for 7.99/month so we have so other TV options without buying anymore DVDs or renting for 5.00.
I installed new shower heads and had our toilets checked (by my husband and brother) and this saved us 100/month in water bills. (Slow leak)
