Hello all! Here's a summary of my long tale!
Dh and I are both 2nd marriages. I have one DS and he has two DS but none together. He thought he was done and had a V (it was two months before we met-ugh!). He had the first VR in Nov. 2009. The Dr. made a mess of it. One side VE. SA's after that were 0,0 and 0.
Dh and I ended up fighting for awhile b/c RE said IVF would be our only option and Dh is against that. (He wants another one because I do, but would be perfectly satisfied with the one's we already have). It actually almost split us up.
In the end, he decided to go to the #1 guy where we live for a 2nd opinion and this dr. thought he could correct the original. 2nd VR was done in Nov. 2010. The Dr could only open one side. The other side had been so poorly botched that it was unfixable.
Our first SA was done 6 weeks post VR and imagine my surprise when they said we had 12M per, but with a volume of 6 we had a total of 72M at 64%motility.
At this point they said I could try IUI.
Note that from when Dh and I started this whole process I was 38 years old. I am now 40 with my 41st birthday tomorrow-so time is very quickly running out and we have only one working side.
I began my first IUI cycle at the beginning of this month with Clomid and will be doing hcg trigger. Went in Tues-all my #'s are good and I'm growing follicles. IUI is planned for Saturday.
So...after all of this, I am a NERVOUS WRECK to find out if the sperm count has remained. I know a lot of times it goes up with time, but many times it goes down as scarring forms (and this one being our second). I can't imagine getting ready for the procedure only to find out they didn't have enough to be able to do it.
TMI...sorry!
Good Luck to Everyone!
