I had hyperthyroidism caused by Hosimoto's disease. I tried PTU and even had an I-131 dose to kill my thyroid. That didn't work and I actually got sicker so I decided to have surgery. During surgery it was discovered I had a tumor that did not show up on my scans. It was attached to my carotifd artery so the could not remove all of it. I had follicular and anaplastic cancer in my thyroid. I went through 3 rounds of I-131 after surgery and also external beam radiation. I had tumor regrowth after the first I-131 that is why I also had external beam radiation.
I now take Synthroid every day and have follow up blood work and scans every 6 months. I still have Hosimoto's antibodies and they can cause issues with TTC and pregnancy. I also take a higher dose of Synthroid because of my tumor regrowth. Now that I am TTC my dose is lower than it was but still slightly higher than normal.

Ashley, goodness honey, you've been through quite a bit. ((hugs)) I hope and pray that the tumor and cancer stay in permanent remission and that they're never an issue for you again.

Wow Ashley, I'm sooo sorry that you had to go thru this. It's not fair that we have to deal with these health issues and the wild ride of TTC. We'll end up in the nutbarn.
