Anyone?? I have had them for 8 yrs. They have gotten so much worse. I have anywhere from 6-12 a month, no lie. And these are migraines, not bad headaches. Vomiting...the whole nine yards. Take Maxalt when I feel one coming on, but problem is, I wake up with most of mine already full blown or I get them from scents, which I cannot control what I smell outside of my home. Some of my migraines last from 3-12 hrs without getting relief. I've wanted to flat out die many times because the pain is unbelievable. I've been given just about every prev. med there is and none are working. I just started a Calcium Channel blocker this week and my Dr. said if it does not help, I've got to be admitted to hospital in nearby city for this Headache Center to figure out what is going on. (Problem with that will be $$$$) No brain scans. Say only 1 in 1,000 come back w/something wrong. Blood work normal, hormones as well. It's terrible and I need answers!

I have a headache almost every day, some days worse than others. Like today I was ok as long as I was in a dark, quiet room. When I go for my first visit with the new dr gonna talk about it.

Jennifer I am sorry you are going through this! Migraines SUCK I know! I get them too and they can last anywhere from 1 day to 1 week for me. I have not had a flare up in a while but i know what you are feeling and am sorry. Does 4 ibuprofen help by chance, they sometimes do for me but when super bad nothing does I know!

So sorry to read about your migraines, I am praying for you as well. They are horrible, I have never had them like you, but I know what you mean by just wanting to die. The first really bad one I had was when I was pregnant with my 3rd baby. It was so bad I thought I had had a stroke. I could not put a shoe on my then 2 year old and my 4 yr old daughter had to do it for me.
Bright light, hormones and hunger (low blood sugar?) triggers mine. Usually if I take 3 ibuprofen and chug a mountain dew within the first 10 minutes of onset I can make it out fine in about an hour or two. If I I can't get those things, I am totally incapacitated and in bed. Usually will then just wake up extremely groggy, like a hangover.
Have you ever had a silent migraine? That was weird, all the symptoms, but no pain. The nausea was way worse.
I really hope you get relief soon!

I get them every now and then, but my dd suffers from them a lot. It sounds like she gets as many as you do. She takes Maxalt and is on Topamax for a second time. Nothing seems to help and the neurologist cannot figure out what triggers them. We've spent thousands on all kinds of tests and still no answers. He even sent her to the sleep lab for studies to see if it was sleep apnea triggering them. She also wakes up with most of them already full blown as well. If the new medicine works for you let me know so I can discuss it with her doctor. I just hate to have to send her off to college in several months still suffering from them.

Oh something on migraines. They have found that some people who suffer migraines have holes in their heart (not to scare you), they put a occluder in to close the whole and the migraines go away. My YDD gets migraines and is on topirimate (if she skips even 2 doses we are in the puking screaming pain), but her migraines started AFTER they closed the hole in her heart.
My ODD also gets migraines and for her they seem to be hormone related. We get to take both girls to the neurologist in another month

I was just looking into if my worsening headaches could be caused by the atenolol I am on and found this article about beta blockers being used with headaches. headaches.about.com/od/treatmentoptions/p/BetaBlockers.htmAlso headaches can be a sign of thyroid issues, so make sure you are getting that tested.

Ick, sorry to hear that you're dealing with migraines too. I've been dealing with them for about 9 years now, and they're HORRIBLE!! Both my mom and sister get them too, but I fortunately don't get them as severely as they do. I was put on Midrin for them when I was pg with my youngest, and they work really well for me. The dosing is: take 2 pills at the onset of the migraine and then 1 every hour until it's gone. I very, very rarely ever even have to take more than the initial 2 pills.
Anyways, I really hope that you're able to get answers soon. I can't imagine how hard it is to deal with them when you're not able to get an relief.

Been awhile since I've been on.... So the Dr. put me on Verapamil, generic name, and amazingly, I have not have a severe migraine for over two weeks. Now I have had a possible one trying to sneak up due to smells that can trigger them, but I immed take Maxalt to stop it. This med is for high blood pressure. I take 120mg twice a day. I'm thankful it is working cause I can still take it when I my BFP!

must be a beta blocker, you are lucky you can tolerate them. I unfortunately cannot tolerate beta blockers (as the last month showed). So glad you are feeling better, now to get that BFP

So glad that they found something that's working, and even better that it's something you can take while pg.

That could be because of any kind of virus in the body you should consult with the doctor regarding this problem he can exactly tell you what is going on in your body.I hope you get better soon.
