I know there's at least one other military wife here, so I thought I'd go ahead and start this thread for those of us who are married to the military. My DH is active duty Air Force, and has been in for almost 13 years now. We've been very fortunate during our 21 months of TTC, because DH has only missed once cycle due to a deployment (he was supposed to be gone for 8 months, but re-injured his shoulder during training and was sent home...we weren't all that disappointed about the injury. ). That's about to change though, as it looks like he'll be gone from April to August this year. We're very thankful that it's only going to be 4 months, and also very thankful that he'll get his reenlistment bonus tax free. ;D I'm still hoping and praying that I'll get my BFP before he leaves, so we don't have to take those 4 months off TTC, but yet at the same time, I don't want him to miss any of this pregnancy.

My Dh isn't in the military, but he was before I met him. He's worked for Northrop Grumman(a government contractor) for the past 13 years, which means he might as well still be in the military. He works on a USMC base here in NC, and travels to a 2 Navy bases in VA ALOT. Right now he's been gone for 3 weeks, and will be home on Feb. 21st. He'll be home for 4 weeks, then leave for another 4. The good thing is, VA is only a 3 hour drive, so the kids go visit him about every other weekend while he's gone! Virginia Beach is a MUCH more exciting city than the one we live in!

CWD, sounds like he's on a Navy schedule. Ick! My dad is retired Navy, and all 3 of my brothers are Navy, so I'm all too familiar with the work up and deployment schedule.

Did you see that I think it's TLC that has a new show starting called Military Wives? Saw the ad and thought of this board!

I haven't seen it (we don't have cable of any form, so no TV here). I wonder how accurately it will portray this life??

I'll have to watch it, even though I know it'll probably make me cry. I come from an all military family, so anything about the military, and especially deployments, makes me cry! Crazy, I know!
