I just wanted to share the exciting news that we FINALLY are going to start our adoption process. I called today so I can get things going, just waiting to hear back. I'm hoping that we can get as much as possible done before DH deploys, so that way we're just waiting on placement when he gets back. I'm so excited and nervous already!

This is awesome news!!! Do you want to get a baby, toddler or older child? What agency are you using? Do they come and do an inspection of your home first?

Tiff, we're hoping for a baby or young toddler, but we'll see what God has in store for us. We're going to use a very local agency. It's actually a church that helps to place adoptive children in their forever home. The child might come from the state foster system, or it may come from a birth mom that wants to work directly with this agency to find her child a home. . We still have to go through all the normal homestudy, inspections, counseling, and such. I'm really hoping that we can get most, if not all, of the stuff DH needs to be there for done before he deploys, so pray for a speedy process.

I'm so excited for you Leslie! So if you get your BFP this month will you still be going through the adoption process as well? How wonderful it would be to be blessed two times!!

Yes, even if we get our BFP this month, or anytime soon for that matter, we're still going to adopt. I can't sit here waiting on a BFP anymore. It makes me a little sad to think that if we had started this process back when we first had the VR done, we could have already adopted at least one child by now. So, we're not waiting anymore. If God blesses us with a birth baby, we'll be able to celebrate that with our heart baby as well.

Jen, I really don't know. I'm not opposed to 10+ children, and neither is my DH. God has given us hearts big enough to love them all, time enough to care for them, and a finances well enough to provide for them. The only thing that I *feel* we lack, is the property enough for them to run around on. We're already (even though we've only lived in this house for 2 months) considering buying property and in 5 years or so when the housing market is back up, building a house on it.
Tiff, you're absolutely right, they'll be a blessing either way. <3

Glad to hear you are moving forward. I have a friend who has 21 children - 8 are biological. They had several that are disabled from Ethiopia because these kids would have been left to die due to inadequate medical care over there. I admire those of you that have hearts for adoption. I will pray for you. One of my best friends just adopted a little girl (they have 4 boys) and it took several years. They went through the state (CO). It was a very difficult journey for them, but SO worth it. God really stretched them, but they are so thankful for His blessing.
