As y'all know my Nanny had knee surgery last week. She had been doing pretty good until today. She's running a fever, feeling run down and her whole incision is really red and swollen. The physical therapist called the doctors office and they said to keep an eye on it tonight and call them back tomorrow. Please pray that she's not getting some type of infection. She is really upset about a possible set back. I feel really bad for her.
Thanks y'all!

She's doing alright. The doctor has started her on some antibiotics to try to head off any infection. He was too busy with surgery to see her. His assistant called and said it sounds as if it's just irritation from the staples. There are a few white areas forming around the edges of some of the staples that look like possible infection to me. I'm keeping an eye on them and may end up having to take her to the ER.
Please pray for my FIL also. He just had his hip replaced on Tuesday and has been suffering very severe delusions since then. DH is worried that it is the onset of Alzheimers. I told him it's probably the extreme dosage of pain meds that they had him on and will hopefully subside once they are out of his system.

Oh my, Cindy, you have so much going on in your family right now. I just lifted up your FIL. Does the timing of the delusions match when he began taking the meds? there are usually early signs of Alzheimers althought they are easy to miss. My grandmother just passed away from it in June of last year. They figured she'd had it for 8 years, but she had only been officially diagnosed for about 5 or 6. I am praying that is not what your FIL is suffering from and that his hip heals well. That surgery has a tough recovery. I am also praying for you. Family medical burdens can weigh so heavy on our hearts so I am asking God to equip you to bear them with continued grace. ((HUGS))

Thanks ladies! My Nanny's knee wasn't infected. It turns out that she was having an allergic reaction to the staples. They came out yesterday and her knee is feeling so much better already. As for my FIL, it WAS the high dosage of pain meds that his dr had him on. Now that they are out of his system he is doing great. At his first PT appointment, the therapist had to tell him to slow down! So thankful that God answers prayers.
