Jen, how long did the tests take. They sent chromosomal testing out and I just want to know why.

We knew within 3-4 weeks and my doctor called me, he was super sweet and explained everything (I was a MESS!) He said quite often when the babies heart stops beating at that far a long it is Trisomy 13 (chromosomal defect) AND that that if a baby even makes it to birth with that the baby would not of lived a long life So I tried to find peace in that and know sadly it was the best thing, gosh i hope that doesn't sound horrible but you know what i mean! Believe me i was a complete mess during all of this, did NOT see it coming after 4 very healthy pregnancies and babies! he also told me the odds of a miscarriage happening are 1 in 5 pregnancies and sure enough that was my #5! It is REALLY hard to handle, I never thought i would come out of that black hole i was in but time does heal, if you need to talk i am here!

I know a woman who delivered a baby with Trisomy 13 at full term. The saddest part is that she lived long enough for them to really get their hopes up that she might defy the doctors and prove she had the will to keep going despite doctors saying the pregnancy would probably end before it reached 24 weeks. They did have a few wonderful hours with her. Very bittersweet.

I know that it probably means the baby would not have lived and am ok with that. I did do the first trimester screening which came out great, but nothing is perfect. Hopefully we will get answers in a few weeks. I go back on 7/28 so praying he has the results by then

Carrie, that is what we were told, that is the baby would of made it to birth we would of only had hours to days to him.... so sad and it was hard but God had other plans....
