We are for sure long-haulers. Its soooo depressing when we look back and thought it would just be reversed and work like magic. For some couples that is the case but for us who knows how long it will take? Feb 2011 will be one yr from VR for us.

FX for you, Elizabeth! I'm 2.5 years out from VR (almost 8 years total of talking, debating, fighting, breaking up and getting back together with counseling, finally deciding to go forward with the VR, getting married, buying a house, TTC 'naturally', nothing happening, finally getting an SA a year out, and finding out it was zero), and finally came to terms that it will never happen with DH sperm. Very difficult realization, but it is what it is. I thought it would just magically work too... never occurred to me that it would fail. What a heartbreak. I waited until I was in my 30's to get married because I only wanted to have kids with 'the right person'. Found him, and oh, the irony that he can't have any more kids (he has two from his previous marriage who are now teens). ...sigh. I'm still working for my BFP, but have moved on to donor sperm. It was hard to even consider, but I want a baby more than anything - I've set up my whole life and career around being a mother in the last few years... so... let's get to it already, i say! DH will still be a fabulous father, and I found a donor that is about as much like him as any stranger I'm likely to find. wf
