Tiffani....Thanks for sharing. I always hear "it only takes one" but it is hard to believe. This should give us all hope.

I just loved seeing that! I really wouldn't put 100% of all my faith into a SA. I think there are alot of factors that go along with it.....the lab, tech, what machines they use, etc.....

I so hope our first SA was wrong and that there are at least some really there. I mean SA's are just a snapshot in time and can change, right?!

Jen...so true. I keep thinking the same thing, but after 2 crappy ones it is hard to lose hope. Just waiting for prescription for prednisone to get here. Makes me feel a little better than there is still some chance. My dh swelled this time much more than the first...that is why I am thinking the prednisone will help. We have to keep hope alive

I know it's hard Nancy! I hope the prednisone helps you guys! The only reason I have some hope is because my DH was on a prescription BP med that could destroy his fertility (which we didn't know then) So we shall see! I'm nervous to say the least for our next SA!

Jen...So hard. Sometimes it is just easier to pretend that there are sperm and not get another SA, but at least we know what we are dealing with. Hoping the meds were your problem and this one shows so many they cant keep track of them I also started the poor guy on maca today. His pill container is overflowing lol! He also has gained a little weight through the winter, so wondering if testestorone is low because of it. Think that belly fat on men means more estrogen and less t. He is trying to fix that. I wanted the local uro to test him, but he just looked at him and said he didn't. Lucky for me, I have a friend in a lab who will test him for that...but that's a secret

Funny you say that because I told my DH a couple of months ago that we are just going to play like there are sperm! I have had my DH on maca for a little while now too. How much is your DH taking of it? My DH got tested for low testosterone and he was not low, we were shocked. My DH also has the belly and he had other signs of low T but nope. I am glad but of course when you are looking for answers it is frustrating.

Do BP meds kill sperm? When my DH had HBP he was on it years ago, but not anymore. I need to research this.

Tiffany, yes some BP medicines do kill sperm. Back before we decided on the VR DH's doctor had him on a BP pill. We thought nothing about sperm at that time. After the VR (and no sperm but healthy fluid) DH's NEW doctor asked what meds he was on. he told her and she said he had to get off that BP med ASAP!! He was actually able to get off the medicine with diet and exercise changes and hasn't been on since. She said the BP med he was on was the absolute worst and she did not ever give it to a man of child bearing age, she said this is a pill that is so bad on fertility she only gave it to 80b yr old men!!!! OMG I was sooo upset. Sooo maybe that was the reason for no sperm at the time of surgery, he was on the BP med then.
I researched that med (I can't remember the specific name darn) and sure enough it could temporarily leave men sterile!!! BUT from all the research i have done it is temporary. Discontinuing use and some time later sperm will return but it is not certain how long, some men in a research showed sperm back at 3m, some 6, some 12 months!! Our 3m SA was no sperm seen. It just makes NO sense because my DH was super fertile, I mean we have 5 kids, we were both super fertile so to be at NO SPERM at only 3yr 11m after V it blew my mind. The surgeon saw NO blockage at time of surgery either.
This is the only thing that is giving me hope still about our zero count. I just wish we would of known all of this before the Vr and he could of gotten off of it 6m before, but we didn't know!

My DH was on it for almost 1 year in 2006. Great.
