Hi ladies, I was DX with UC when I was 21 years old. I've had many sigmoid and colonoscopies thoughout my life. My upper, lower colon and my rectum has alot of ulcers, I bleed when I go #2 and I have mucus. I also have "accidents" during the day and it's awful. I hope the news meds clear this up. It's embarrassing to say the least. Thank god this hasn't happened when having sex with my DH. Long story cut short: before yesterday, my last Colonoscopy was in 2006 and was pretty normal. With the findings yesterday, I am now put on 2 different meds at 7 pills daily:-( I'm worried because I'm not sure how this will work with TTC. I'm going to call my OB tomorrow to find out. My gastrointerologist put me on: Apriso/4 daily and Prednisone/3 daily - extreme eh? Does anyone know about these 2 drugs? I read the pamphlets, but it said to talk to my doc, so that's what I'm going to do. Thanks for listening.

The prednisone won't affect you while you are ttc, but once you are pregnant you don't want to take it unless it is absolutely necessary. I had to take it the whole time I was preggo with my ds due to my asthma. It delayed his growth and him hitting puberty. He didn't finally grow hair under his arms or "down there" until he was almost 18. Not sure about that other med though.

I was also diagnosed with regular colitis and diverticulitis back during the summer. Luckily it's not something I have to deal with daily, but when it flares up it is horrible.

I'm not sure on the meds, but I just wanted to offer you lots of ((hugs)). I hope that your doctor has some insight about the affect of the meds while TTC, and also that this new regiment will be the ticket for you.

Thank you ladies for your kind words and for sharing your experiences. It means alot.
My doc called me today and said that taking both meds are OK, but he rather me not take the Pred while pregnant. I only have to be on it for 3 weeks, thank god, but have to be on the other forever:-( It could be worse, right? I really dislike taking any pills, let alone ones I have to take as it is.
In addition, he said that he rather my current flare up be completely gone before I TTC, (another BUT) I ovulate this week and we've been DTD (all week). If I don't get pg this month, I'll be off the Pred before "O"ing in Feb. Soooo, I think it will all be ok.
