The last time we had an SA was 6 months post VR. At that time DH's count was zero. We hemmed and hawed for that last 6 months about what we were going to do. We decided to use Donor Sperm, but now I have to wait a little longer because I have to have surgery to remove a fibroid tumor blocking my uterine cavity.
So, since we now have to wait longer, DH wants to have another scope done to see if he has any sperm. Has anyone had a zero count, and then have sperm return after a year? Not getting my hopes up too much, just curious. Anything is possible I guess.

I'd be very interested to see the answer as well, since we had zero sperm at 3months and now we are over 8months and going in for another SA soon!

From my understanding you can. Sometimes it takes longer for the sperm factory to wake up and produce. Also there could have been swelling or various other things there that was giving 0. I hope you both find that things look brighter with the new SA, and also remember a SA is only a tiny snapshot of a very big picture

I would always say it is worth a try....you never know. It is true that sometimes it takes longer for sperm to return. GL!

Definitely worth a try, because it can happen. I would try really hard not to get my hopes up, but it is completely possible.

I'm going to see if DH will let me do a home scope tonight and see if there is anything. If there is anything questionable we'll have the Dr. do another SA.
He's fine with using DS if that's what we have to do, but he would still rather use his own if any way possible. Which I totally understand.

Apparently I'm a dummy and can't remember dates. We had the urologist scope at 2.5 and 5.5 months, and the full SA was done at 7.5 months. Blah. This all just really sucks I'm still going to see if DH will let me scope tonight for the heck of it.
