DH is calling to make his 8m SA appointment Monday, we are hoping he can get in next week!! I'm so nervous and scared. This will tell us if it is just the beginning or possibly the end I don't like to call it the end because I know BFP can still happen with negative count SA's I have seen that many times before but realistically at 8m this is going to tell us if THIS surgery was a success or fail! I hope we get good counts but DH has already told me if we need to do a second VR he will!!! If needed we will use Dr. Roeder later this year.....but lets hope we don't get to that point and get good counts (or any counts at all) at his SA

Jen, I'm hoping that you get amazing news. ((hugs)) That's great that your DH is open to a redo if necessary, but let's hope that you don't need to even entertain the thought.

Thanks and I know it's good to know, but I hope we do NOT get to that point!

Jen remember no matter what that your VR is not a success/failure until 1+ yr out. But I know what you mean about hoping no redo's. We go for another SA in April, though I pray we won't need it.
Has your DH been taking any supplements or prescriptions to help?

We have DH on 4 Fertility Blend and 2 Motility boosts. He did just start a med that I am worried about affecting things- some new anti depressant.

ALL prescription meds worry me when it comes to fertility, especially my DH's because he is the only one taking them. He takes Lexapro right now and has been on Abilify in the past, that is one I was concerned about that he was taking back when he go his 3m SA, that along with the BP med. We were told Abilify would not affect sperm but I don't believe it. We have also been told by doctors anti-depressants won't affect fertility but then when i did research online I have read many small studies where men too an SSRI and their sperm counts dropped drastically, they stopped taking them and the counts went back up. All the studies showed the same thing. And if SSRI's affect fertility then we have a problem cause DH can't get off his Lexapro which one is your DH on?

venlaxafine. I worry about it too, but Dh really needs it for depression/anxiety and ADHD. He has a family history of depression on both sides going back a few generations, so to say no is kinda cruel.
Our first SA was so bottom of the bucket, I worry what adding this in will do, maybe I could just get preg now before it is in his system all the way?? LOL

Well yesterday DH called to schedule it and they said they needed his VR doctor to fax in a request for the SA. So he called Dr. Weinstein and then they got the form faxed over to the place hubby is getting his SA done. DH was supposed to call today to make his appointment and when he called at 12:30, they had just closed for the day at noon ahh! The one day of the week this fertility clinic closes early lol. Sooooo he will call tomorrow and schedule it. We WILL get this scheduled lol, s I will let everyone know the date tomorrow. When we called they said they could get him in really quick so we are thinking it will be early next week

Ugh so i am not sure why we are having such a hard time getting this SA scheduled, but now the fertility clinic we wanted to go to says we have to become official patients there to even get the SA, which is totally different than they have been telling us. SO we found another fertility center that we are pretty sure will do the SA without being an official patient, but it's 150, and not 75 like the other place, but that's ok! DH is going to call trying him here today soon! Wish us luck lol!

Weird. We just called a local RE office, told them we were paying cash and they made the appt. My OB/GYN is giving DH the RX.
I wonder why they make it so hard for you.
