Shel- it is just about on my right ovary. There is no other drug (and these are chemo drugs they use, so at this point I would refuse anyway). If it gets much worse I will head in to the ER and they might just do emergency surgery for it :/ Honestly it is all wait and see right now.
I can understand wanting to wait for the u/s (though in my case it would not be the heartbeat I want to see but where the baby is placed so next time I get one real early). I had one at 6 wks on the nose with my ODD and we could see the heartbeat, but not here it. She looked like a grain of rice, but it was reassuring.

Yay for your DH kicking the smoking habit! I'm pretty sure it's Nancy's DH that's on prednisone for the swelling.

Jen-glad to read that your Dh is taking his health serious and even adding the exercise! That is great! One thing about prednisone--it can cause psychotic episodes and severe depression. I was on it for bronchitis this fall (5 day set--1,2,3,2,1), at the beginning when I told my mom (she is an RN) she told me that if I started acting loopy and crazy and DH had to take me to the ER to be sure to tell them i was taking prednisone. She said it doesn't happen often and it is usually an all or nothing thing. I blew it off. I had finished my last pill a day earlier and while I was at school I noticed we had brand new, excessivly large Exit signs that were glowing red. I asked our custodian when we got them and he looked at me and said they have always been there. I laughed and told him to quit teasing me and to seriously tell me the truth. He looked puzzled and then said, "what are you on, girl, you are fruity."
I was completely dumbfounded, confused and totally freaked out. I almost in tears asked a fellow teacher about the signs and she was also confused and said they were the same. I was so glad when that day ended. At home I called my dad (mom was at work) and ended up bawling my eyes out. I then was more depressed and sad than I have ever been in my life. I did not care about anything. I remembered thinking that if I died it would be better. Went to bed and woke up better but still in the dumps. By the next evening I felt fine, perfectly normal.
That was the weirdest thing ever--so now I know I am one of the people who can't handle prednisone.
When I talked to my mom she gave me the "I warned you speech, " but honestly she did not tell me there was any risk after the last pill. Guess it stays in your body a little while about 36-48 hours. She then told me my aunt (her sister) gets severely depressed and hallucinates on it, she takes it for RA.
My mom thought the whole thing was pretty funny, thanks mom--but I also find it sort of funny they must have thought I was having a breakdown at school, oh well!
Well there is my "book" on prednisone! Sorry that went on and on. Again it isn't very common and since I have a familial sensitivity it was more likely for me to react that way.
Kirsten--keep hanging in there! I'm still thinking and praying for you.
Shel--You have a great outlook, so positive and uplifting. I hope I can have that much sense and calm. Hope you have a great time in Italy!
Tomorrow is that last weekday of our Spring break--poo! I have absolutely loved being a SAHM this week! I do miss it so much, if my paycheck wasn't necessary I would go back in a heartbeat.
Have a wonderful Friday everyone!

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA, but have been thinking about you. You can probably keep up better with me on Facebook these days. Our Cross Country move date is set for April 14-15th, we've had friends in town, we leave on the 26th for a week and will be back on the 30th. CRAZY BUSY!
I've calmed WAY down with TTC. Being more relaxed and not thinking about it as much makes me soooo much happier! It's very rewarding....I "O" today and hope to get some BD in:-)
Thinking of you all and Baby Dust to everyone! HUGS

Shel, this is a bit OT, but if I remember correctly, you're teaching your children Latin, right? What curriculum do you use, and did you know any Latin before using that curriculum.

How was everyone's weekend? Mine was spent in the ER from Friday morning till this morning. I was in a lot of pain and they thought it might be rupturing. They watched me that whole time with blood draws every 6 hrs. They determined it was a tubal abortion, where the baby was being expelled through the tube and was causing pain. They wanted to give me another shot of methotrexate but I was really against this, that same day (Saturday) the pain went away and I have not been in any since. I am home now, still on limited activities and very tired. By the way2 iv's in each elbow and who knows how many blood draws leaves you very uncomfortable.

Oh Kirsten! How awful! I am glad you aren't having any more pain, I hope this is the end of your pain, so you can heal physically and emotionally.
I agree, IVs and blood draws are the WORST and the after effects/sensations last so long--ugh I am feeling it.

Kirsten - Glad that you are home and that the physical pain has ended. I also agree about the IVs and blood draws. I have the tiniest veins that like to roll or collapse so it is really bad when I need to have that stuff done. Try to get some rest!
Carrie - When I worked at a doctors office I saw a few of the patients and one of our doctors that had the same type of reaction to the prednisone. We even had one woman that would beg for the prescriptions for it because it made her high. Luckily I've never had any type of reaction when I have to take it. I just end up eating like a pig because it makes me so hungry.
Nancy - I'm doing fine as her caretaker. She is up and moving around doing most things for herself now. Just waiting for her to finish up her PT. I have to leave work early twice a week to take her. Luckily I have a great boss who is VERY understanding about stuff and has no problem with me leaving early. She should be released by the end of April and will be going back to her house in VA for the month of May, then she will be back in June for dd's graduation.
Hi to EOE. Been a very busy last few days running errands and working. The pollen here is terrible so my allergies have been going crazy with that. It doesn't help that I work outside so I'm around it all day long. Oh well, I guess it's what you have to accept when you want the warmer weather right? Hope everyone is doing okay. The board has been very quiet lately.

Kirsten - glad you're home. Hopefully the physical side of things will subside so that you can begin to heal emotionally. This has been such an ordeal for you. I'm still very sorry. Leslie - I began teaching my oldest son in middle school using The Latin Road to English Grammar. I did not know any Latin, but the curriculum is set up to teach you. I then began my middle son on Latina Christiana starting with the primer in 3rd grade and we are on Book II now that he is in 5th grade. We will move on to the Latin Road next year (for 3 years). For high school, I use Henle Latin. We go through the entire book in 1 year and then will move on to Henle 2 next year. This is a faster pace than how Latin is taught in public school, but it is appropriate when your children have had several years of Latin prior to high school. My 9th grader just took the National Latin Exam and is pretty convince he will have earned a gold (top score). We'll see. I have several friends that use Latin for Children and they LOVE it. I can say that I am happier with how much my children retain using the curriculum I have versus what I've observed with my friends' kids, but I hear the Latin for Children is more "fun". Cindy - allergies are the worse! Mine are very mild so I haven't felt it yet, but I know it's coming. That's ok. I'll take it if it means warmer weather AFM - We had a b-day party after church so I missed my afternoon nap. I am ExHAUSTED! I'm supposed to do a 3 mile EZ today, but I think I need a quick nap first. It looks like I will have to run on the treadmill since it will likely be dark by the time I have the energy to run. I get b/w done tomorrow morning. Praying for great numbers again. I've told a few women at church so they are praying. I am so thankful for the few waves of nausea and sore bbs since it is a reminder that things are going as they should. God is sooo good. I hope you all are having a fabulous weekend! Nancy - hoping that celebrex woke up DH's swimmers so that you catch that egg.

Shel, Latina Christiana looks very promising, and has good reviews over on christianbook.com too. What would you say is necessary, what is really beneficial, and what you can easily go without in the series (in regards to teacher's manual, flashcards, roots of English, puzzles and games, et cetera)? I feel learning other languages is extremely beneficial, and we need to get started on it sooner, rather than later.
Kirsten, sorry that you're having such a rough go of it right now. I hope that you find yourself in a healthier place very soon. ((hugs))
AFM- Every single one of the kids and I have strep throat. DH is being a silly tough-guy and doesn't feel he needs to go in to get checked because he "feels fine" (despite his red, swollen throat). After his mama (who's an ER RN) agreed with me and told him to go get his butt to the DR and get checked he's finally agreed to go in....tomorrow. Goober, but at least he's not going to sit around waiting too much longer.
